What I can do for you

  • Personal accelerated French or English lessons to focus on your weaknesses and get you going in your new language environment. This means that you will improve the impact you make when speaking far faster than in generic group language classes.

  • Group tutoring e.g. for companies which have business connections who speak English and French.

  • 1-to-1 conversation practice in either English or French. This is done by internet conference which saves you dead travel time so that you can focus on the language itself.

  • Proofreading and correction of documents for publication, e.g. theses, annual reports, websites etc. in either English or French.

About Emma

My family moved around a lot when I was growing up. We moved to Bahrain and then Saudi Arabia, when I was about 3 and lived there for nearly 4 years. I lived on a compound, roller-skating and swimming in an outdoor pool every day. I made friends with people from other countries, who I am still in touch with to this day. I am grateful for having had the chance to live abroad, as it has given me a love of other cultures and languages.

I am bilingual in both English and French, as a result of attending an international school. I was taught French from the age of six. I attended Nottingham Trent University, spending a GAP year teaching English in France. I attended Exeter University to get a PGCE in French. I went on to get my CELTA to teach English as a Foreign Language. Later study, as a mum, also gave me certification for work with children under the age of 11 years.

I have taught English and French in several language schools. I also have experience working with children, from preschool to secondary level, and with adults.
